LECTURE:
Andreas Angelidakis |
|
Architect Andreas Angelidakis presents his most recent projects up to the architectural design of the 2nd Athens Biennale 2009, focusing on the core of his practice and namely on the architecture of presentation and communication.
For the last ten years Andreas Angelidakis has been extensively involved with architecture as means of communication and presentation. Functioning equally as an exhibition designer and exhibitor, his creations span from the virtual/internet to the real space, investigating as such all aspects of the behaviour of the contemporary art exhibition visitor.

EVENT:
"Toys in Heaven" (curated by ERROR CODE and HERACLES) |
|
Error Code and Heracles present a programme dedicated to music through the use of children's toys and unfold the possibilities they hold. The event is part of the exhibition "How Many Angels can Dance on the Head of a Pin?", curated by Christopher Marinos.
What do children look for in their toys? Even if this process often leads to the total destruction of toys, sometimes something surprising and magical comes up: a doll that talks backwards, a sound that we never heard before, a shine that all of a sudden lights up the space. At this precies moment, abuse (of the toy in this case) redefines its traits.
We will produce sound out of gameboys, casio, old toys long forgotten in the attic or scattered in the open air market and their remains will be reconstructed and re-programmed for the creation of various compositions and improvisations.
For the schedule of the event plese visit our website.

PRESENTATION:
Errands, "The futuristic houses of Nikolaos Xasteros" |
|
The Errands will present a dwelling in the form of a flying saucer, designed by Nikolaos Xasteros and patented in September 1969. The dwelling is a pre-fabricated house, constructed from a material that was novel for the time: fiberglass.
The chronicle of futuristic residences, as developed by significant architects worldwide, place Nikolaos Xasteros’s constructions in an important place in greek and international architecture, since they are thought to reveal at the same time a global vision that concerned the evolution of technology, mass production and the resolution of housing issues.
The presentation of Nikolaos Xasteros’s work includes drawings, photographs and testimonies, but also one of his futuristic houses, which has been transferred to the Flisvos Park by the Errands, as part of the "Heaven_Live" exhibition curated by Dimitris Papaioannou & Zafos Xagoraris.
